About Me

My Personal Story: Why I Coach

The Struggle

In my late twenties, I was living my dreams. I was very successful in school, got the job I aspired to, met and married my husband right out of college, and had my first child before 30. I had met virtually every goal I had set for my early life and yet I was miserable. I felt like I was working so much more and so much harder than those around me just to keep up.

  • Intrusive thoughts haunted me in quiet moments because I couldn’t always match my heart to my actions and it caused regrettable moments.

  • I thought I must be innately flawed because I couldn't do what I knew I should.

  • I was riding an emotional roller coaster, struggling with anxiety and depression, but I didn’t feel justified in seeking help.

A Breakthrough

I believe . . .

You are not broken or bad, you may just need to learn what works for you.

There are many paths to get where you are going. It’s okay to get there in YOUR time and YOUR way.

Everyone deserves the chance to know and be the best version of themselves.

At age 28, I was diagnosed with ADHD. I learned why things seemed harder for me and that I didn’t have a flawed character, I just needed to learn how to put the pieces together in a way that worked for me. As I progressed through my life and career, I found that the strategies I had learned helped others gain traction in their own challenges. I connected with others who seemed to have similar struggles and now have a rich circle of friends, family, and clients who share in the experience of having executive function challenges and inform my approach to helping others.

Why I Coach

I thrive in helping people feel and be better by sharing the lessons I have learned the hard way. I coach because I want to share what I have learned. Life doesn’t have to be that hard!

My Professional Story

Hi! I am Michelle Mathieu. I am a two-time graduate of the University of New Hampshire, earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservation with an Environmental Affairs

I began work as a virtual executive function coach and tutor in 2021 and founded EF Mind Coach in 2024 as a passion project to help people of all ages, locations, and socioeconomic backgrounds simplify and supercharge their lives. Though my path from high school to today has been driven by a clear desire to excel while making a difference, it has followed many twists and turns. From becoming an Army medic and traveling the US with the Forest Service, to teaching middle school, to working in sales, and starting several businesses, including a NH charter school, I have learned to navigate the balance of purpose-driven work with family life and my many other passions.

Now, I take pride in sharing what I have learned to give others confidence in charting their own paths.
